Teal Twist Cardigan

Well, I finished the cardy in time to wear out to dinner. Wonders will never cease, lol. Neither of my friends made any rude comments so I figure it's passed muster ;) (Hi J and M!). I'm quite happy with it and I'm going to leave the twist in after all. I am seeking feedback on the twist - DD1 thinks it should be about 5cm/2 inches higher. What do you think?

To make this, I used the morphed Ottobre Tee pattern I created here but left out the inset. I totally forgot about my thought of binding the edge which would have given a nicer finish. It wouldn't have been possible this time anyway, as there wasn't enough fabric left over for bindings, but I'll make a note on the pattern for next time.

Next up is those trousers.

That is a cute little cardy! I didn't think anything about the twist until you mentioned it. Yes, I think I'd like it up a little higher too. 5 cm seems about right. My thoughts are twinsets seem to have a button or some type of closure more near the top, and a blazer with one closure seems to have it right where your twist is on your cardigan.

Great color Keely. I like the way that turned out. I like where it does the twist. It's not designed to be the same as a cardi with a clasp. The twist is a design feature and it's right where it should be.

Hi Keely!!
The twist is higher on your original top... Think I like it better 'cos it directs the attention up and to your face...
You're a good sport to ask, eh!! You've got "yah & nah" votes now...

Love it. Like the twist where it is, higher would draw attention to you know what.
We got stopped twice on the way home A breathe tested twice and he was the only guy that didn't have one of those drinks LOL very funny.
Also liked the colour - you look very nice last night, and glad you took into account my comments on the photos. heheheeee

So far you have 2 comments for higher and 2 comments for leaving it where it is. I'll break the tie and say "higher".

Forgot to add that I like the color too!

Keely - the colour of this one really suits you and it's hard to compare to the black one. On reflection I like where the twist is on the black one better but if you hadn't pointed it out I probably wouldn't have noticed. I like them both. Maree

The colour is gorgeous on you and it is a very smart cardigan, you are clever! Since you ask, if you are keen to get out the unpicker :(, I do think it would be even nicer with the twist a tiny bit higher.

Cute cardigan Keely! I have wanted a Butterick pattern that features this twist front since Debbie Cook made it. Kudos for drafting it yourself! Now you gotta post a tute, LOL :D
