A few changes to the look of things...

Over on Patternreview there is a thread about blogs. One of the issues mentioned was that it could be difficult to read light writing on a dark background. Consequently I decided to try a change. It's going to take a bit of getting used to. :-) I feel like I should only be sewing clothes in colours complementary to the blog.

Talking of sewing.... It's turned cold and I need some warmer tops. Ottobre of course. :-) But this time with long sleeves. Of course, that jacket I've been putting off would come in handy too.... maybe at Easter. I'm taking a night off from study and I'm planning on a new top tonight. I'm nowhere near Debbie's 'one hour tee' speed but lets see what can be done.

My speed is definitely not always "one hour" ... just when I'm desperate. ;-) Good luck with your tee. I'm sure it will be great.

I was just looking at your profile...don't fear, it comes full circle. When your kids get to be adults and realize that the RTW doesn't actually fit after all, they're a lot more interested in what you may be able to make for them!

Debbie, even in desperation I don't come close to 1 hour. 1 day perhaps... :)

Paula, My 2 girls aged 11 and 7 still like me sewing for them. The oldest actually thinks it's cool. She likes unique but similar. I'm encouraging her to start sewing for herself. The only one who doesn't seem to want me to sew for him is the teenager and I think that's more his inability to envisage a garment. Plus, he doesn't like having to wait for me to finish it. :)

Hi Keely - I just left a huge comment which seems to have disappeared so here I go again. I've only seen your blog for the first time today and have now bookmarked it. I hope my responses don't turn up twice.

You mentioned in PR about the colours and since I haven't seen the colours previously all I can say is that I like the look of the blog. My eyes (I'm short sighted and wear glasses to see all the time) like the cream font on blue in the side panel. That seems very restful to read to me. The main panel in cream is easy to read but a tad glarey for me - but that's me, or maybe it's just that the font isn't quite dark enough. I don't know.

It's a good blog though and I'll visit more now that I've found it.

I noted from your profile that you liked the Pern series by Anne McCaffrey - that series was good wasn't it and IMO her writing went off a bit after. I think she's the author of the Ship Who Sang which was quite good too.

Cheers

Just discovered your blog! I've been following the PR blog thread as well. It's resulted in a bit of blog housekeeping. I've added you to my blogroll and look forward to visiting here often.
